In December last year, before Do Unto Others Assistance Dogs was even in existence, we were entrusted with the care and training of our first pup – HALO! Since then, it’s been a crazy, exciting, frustrating, amazing, steep learning curve, step out in faith year.
Here we are today with nine owner /trainer teams in progress, six pups with puppy raisers, four pending clients, and two approved clients waiting for their dogs, and one new Golden puppy that will be joining us in February! The need is out there and we’re doing our part to meet as much of it as possible.
We’re growing, which is wonderful, but we want to be sure to be able to continue our commitment to providing quality over quantity. That means extra effort in the coming months to recruit new puppy raisers and funds with which to continue our growth, our outreach to educate our community, and to serve our neighbors with disabilities.
Without the support of our Board of Directors, volunteers, donors, friends and family none of this would have been possible. It is with full and grateful hearts that we, your D.U.O. Executive Team, want to say thank you to each and every one of you for believing in us and our mission to provide well-trained service dogs to those who need them.
We don’t know what the New Year will bring, but we have confidence that we will meet the challenges together, as we are always Stronger Together!
